Birthday Cupcakes at Mi Escuelita

It was fun visiting Caroline's class on her actual birthday -- to bring cupcakes to the kids & teachers. Here are some photos of them enjoying their yummy treats!

Caroline with her teachers, Blanca and Julia

Delicious and PINK!
I don't know this little boy's name, but he was cracking me up with the blue icing all over his face and fingers.
This is Caroline's friend Jackson, and he was so funny eating his purple cupcake.
Also, this was her last day in the 2's class -- the Solecitos (little suns). On Sept. 1st, she moved up to the Lunitas Class (the little moons), which was very exciting!

Rachel Starts Kindergarten

Our whole family was so excited for Rachel when Aug. 26 finally came -- her first day of kindergarten! So far, she loves everything about it -- her teacher, her classmates, the school, etc. We are so proud of her for jumping right in so easily, and for being such a big girl!

Mi Escuelita Graduation

Last Saturday, Rachel officially graduated from preschool!
Mi Escuelita held a really nice graduation ceremony, complete with caps & gowns, and Rachel was one of two student speakers! Here are some pictures, plus a video of her speech, which was written by her teacher and memorized by Rachel. We were so proud of her for doing such a wonderful job with the speech - she didn't even seem nervous or scared!

The kids did some dancing & singing -- this was a cute song about horses.

This is the video of Rachel's speech:

"Bienvenidos a nuestra graduacion. Los cometas estamos muy felices, y queremos decir gracias a nuestras familias por querernos y ayudarnos tanto, y a Mi Escuelita por los amigos que siempre estaran en sus {nuestros} corazones.
Vamos a kinder, pero nunca olvidaremos que gracias a ustedes, vemos el mundo diferente."

"Welcome to our graduation. The Cometas (her class) are very happy, and we want to thank our families for loving us and helping us so much, and (thanks) to Mi Escuelita for the friends that will always be in our hearts. We are going to kindergarten, but we will never forget that, thanks to you, we see the world differently."

August Miscellaneous

Pictures from throughout the month of August

Rachel & Sarah laughing together

Caroline drew this picture of me with "crazy blue hair"
Now that Sarah can crawl around super-fast, she is getting into everything! The pantry is just so fun & exciting.
Rachel spilled a tiny bit of water on the floor one day, and since I was on an official phone call of some sort, she decided to make her own "wet floor" signs to alert the general public (i.e., me). Here are her signs -- they're a little more foreboding than the usual yellow ones we see in public places - notice the dire "YOU WILL SLIP" wording at the top, and the person shown underneath starts out smiling & standing up, then is shown falling down and frowning.

She is just so creative! This sign was at one end of the spill:
This sign was at the other end of the wet zone. I like the open mouth on this girl after she falls down!

Rachel & Caroline had a really fun time at a friend's princess-themed birthday party -- everyone wore their favorite dress-up outfit, and they decorated crowns & cupcakes and wore fun accessories like the sunglasses & wand you see below.
Caroline is in the middle in the photo below.
Sarah's first plane ride! Sadly, it was so that I could be at the funeral for Chip Adcock in Houston, but she was quite a fun traveler!

On the ride home - getting ready to take off!

We had a great time swimming with Grammie & Pop Pop on Saturday.
