Caroline has really enjoyed doing puzzles, now that she understands how to fit the pieces in! It's fun to see her little mind at work, concentrating and figuring them out... so here are two clips. They're long, but cute when you have time to watch them!

Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh
Today we went with my mom to Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. It was our first visit, and we were amazed! There was so much to do that we covered less than half of the place. The girls had a GREAT time! We were impressed by how much space was devoted to activities that the 1-to-4-year-old crowd can enjoy. We'll definitely have to go back again soon to do even more! Here are some pictures.....
They had a postal service delivery truck complete with boxes to load and a conveyor belt with ramp... the girls had a great time loading & unloading boxes.

They had a ton of dress-up clothes in all sizes, along with a performance stage and a curtain that the kids could open & close. Caroline's costume was very shiny!

Rachel's costume was a fairy princess

There was a BIG pirate ship with lots of decks & lookouts to climb around on... along with a box full of pirate hats, eye patches, etc.

The girls had a fun time at the water tables - even with aprons on, they were REALLY wet!

"We are looking for a moses basket"
This afternoon, Rachel & I were talking about her baby doll Moses basket when she decided we should look for a new one on the computer. I agreed, so we did a Google search for "baby doll Moses basket", but we were having trouble finding one that she liked -- most of the search results were for real babies, not baby dolls.
Becoming mildly frustrated, Rachel insisted on typing in a better search, so I let her enter her own wording into the Google search window, and this was what she wrote. See below. If you "read" it carefully, you'll see it makes perfect sense -- she typed in (with her own spelling, of course): "We are looking for a moses basket". Unfortunately, Google didn't have any better results for her search than mine. I was laughing at Google's attempt at making sense of the search term, however -- notice it said "Did you mean" and listed its own nonsense word.

Durham Museum of Life & Science
Last week we went to the Museum of Life & Science in Durham and had a good time. Here are some pictures.....
Rachel watching balls go down the two tracks

Sitting in an old-fashioned train car

Outside with the animals -- in this case, sheep

This pig was asleep with the blanket all over his face! I just had to take a picture.

Caroline was talking to the cow.

She really liked that cow...

... and the turkey, too!

February Miscellaneous
Odds & ends from the first 10 days of February......
Caroline being cute sitting in the wagon for the blocks

Rachel working hard making Valentines... not sure why she wanted to wear undies on her head....

Let's Go Wildcats!! Rachel, Hutch, & Caroline cheering for Davidson basketball

Clair and Lo reading a story to Hutch & Caroline

The Davidson game-watching crowd, minus Robert & me (Robert was in a chair & my camera didn't go that wide)

Rachel in her "house" that she made in our living room

This was cute... Caroline was happily playing with these two tiny baby dolls & the puppy when she suddenly went into our bedroom, found the package of unopened diapers, and came back saying her word for "baby"... "baby" (her word is "dee"). At first I thought she just wanted another baby and liked the baby on the diaper package... and that might have been the case. But within a few moments, she decided she wanted diapers for everyone. So we diapered 'em up nicely... as you'll see in the second picture. No leaks or accidents for those babies, that's for sure!!!

Sweet Rachel & Caroline
Oh, I love it when Rachel & Caroline are sweet to each other... they can be so adorable! Here are some video clips of the girls being really, really cute. If only they could be this nice to each other all the time!
The first few show them reading books together; in the last one, Rachel made little beds for them on the floor in the living room, and Caroline is quite happy to play along and go to "sleep" in her makeshift bed! It's even funnier when Rachel refers to her as "destructo" -- a term that she's heard Brian use when she messes everything up....
