Vacation Bible School 2010

Rachel and Caroline had a wonderful time at Vacation Bible School this year, held at Camp New Hope just north of Chapel Hill. Since this was Rachel's third year, she was super excited and knew exactly how fun it was going to be. Caroline, on the other hand, was probably the 2nd youngest child there (since she hasn't quite turned 3 yet) - but she rose to the challenge of being with the big kids and did really well! We were very proud of her.

This year's theme was about God's creation and taking care of what He made -- the kids learned about the creation story in Genesis, as well as lessons on conservation, recycling, and reusing.

Making an earth oven - they used aluminum foil, a shoebox, and the greenhouse effect to make s'mores inside their little ovens - and it worked! The heat and sunshine melted the chocolate and everyone enjoyed a yummy treat.
