Hurricanes Game with Rachel & Caroline

Brian and I had a great time taking Rachel & Caroline to a Hurricanes hockey game. With front-row seats, all the action happens right there in front of us!

The Canes players skating around together -- celebrating after scoring a goal
Eric Staal -- Hurricanes team captain, oldest of the 4 Staal brothers, and captain of the All-Star Team for the All-Star game coming up in late January

One of the hurricanes players knocked down an opponent, whose mask sheared off and he broke his nose. Here is a photo I took as he was leaving the ice. Yikes!!!
The fight that ensued due to the broken nose of a teammate -- note the large brawl on the left but also the smaller one-on-one fight on the right, requiring two referees to separate the players.

Snow - Dec. 26

We had a really fun time playing in about 5 inches of snow the day after Christmas!

Rachel & neighbor Ryan having fun on a grassy (snow-covered) hill near our house
Oops!

Sarah had been walking for only 3 days, so she was a little unsure of taking steps in the snow
Sliding down the cul-de-sac with Mommy wasn't all that fun either -- for Sarah, that is. For me, it was great!
Caroline had more fun just playing in the snow than sledding in it

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas! Santa was good to our girls, we hosted a feast with family in the afternoon, and it was a really fun day for everyone.

Rachel & Caroline holding their new Ariel dolls that Santa gave them. Rachel's also holding her new Sleeping Beauty barbie doll (also from Santa). Not pictured is Caroline's Jessie-from-Toy-Story doll.

Caroline excited about her new leotard and ballet slippers

Sarah opening some cute pink socks

Even as 17- and 14-month olds, I think Nelson and Sarah still look a LOT alike!

Fun with dress-up and costumes

It's my Christmas and I'll frown if I want to...
You have to admit this expression is adorable, even if she's not happy!
Bob enjoys playing with his favorite new dolls (Hey! Rachel got some dolls just like those!!)
Fun with reindeer and antler headbands

Marshall Christmas Gathering at Mom's house

On Wednesday, we gathered at Mom's house for an early Christmas dinner and to exchange gifts with Robert, Lo, & Emma Rose - since they were traveling to Laredo for Christmas.

Lo made some really cute reindeer cupcakes
