Last Saturday, we went to a birthday party for Leslie, one of Rachel's classmates from Mi Escuelita. They had the party at a neat family farm in Chapel Hill called Spence's Farm. The kids had a great time gathering vegetables from the garden, petting chickens & finding eggs in the chicken coop, brushing a pony (and an optional pony ride), followed by the usual party festivities of lunch and birthday cake.
Leslie, the birthday girl, is in the photo below wearing the purple shirt. Rachel, in case you don't recognize her in ponytails, has on the orange shirt.
Leslie comes from a Spanish-speaking family, as did a few of the other children at the party, so they sang Happy Birthday in both languages. Here's an excerpt from the Spanish version.
